The easiest weeknight pasta dinner ready in 30 minutes. Add all your ingredients in the pan, including the uncooked pasta or sauté the onions and garlic first before adding the remaining ingredients.
This is a great go-to dish adding vegetables and protein you have on hand. I added sausage and peppers as that's what I had in my fridge. I only used 1/2 box of pasta so if you’re adding the full box, add 5 cups of liquid.
One Pan Pasta
Ingredients
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1/2 onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 box linguine or spaghetti
2-3 fresh tomatoes, diced ( or use can diced tomatoes)
1 bell pepper, sliced
Sausage, sliced
Basil or parsley
2 1/2 cups of water or chicken broth ( more as needed)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Parmesan cheese
Directions
Heat oil in a pot or skillet. Add onions and garlic and sauté for a few minutes. Add in the uncooked pasta, tomatoes, bell pepper, sausage, basil, water/broth, salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 8 minutes, stirring a few times. If the pasta is not cooked and liquid has evaporated, add 1/2 cup of water or broth and continue to cook for a few minutes until the pasta is done. Stir in some parmesan cheese before serving.
